BB-8 Gives C-3PO And R2-D2 A Message In New 'Star Wars' Ad

The moment you've all been waiting for has arrived: BB-8 has come sphere to barrel with R2-D2 (and C-3PO is there too). The momentous meeting between the original Star Wars droids and the feisty newcomer from "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" comes as part of an ad for a contest to win tickets to see the premiere of the new Star Wars film.

UK website O2 Priority is offering a chance to win tickets to the movie event of the decade, but even if you don't win the grand prize, you still get to see these classic characters collide with BB-8. Whether or not this scene, which heavily draws from Artoo and Threepio's initial exchanges on Tatooine in 1977's "Star Wars," actually plays out in "The Force Awakens" remains to be seen. But who cares if it's canon -- it's BB-8 meeting Artoo and Threepio.

"Star Wars: The Force Awakens" opens in theaters on December 18.
