Ruby Rose has stepped up her involvement in doing her own stunts for Batwoman and, in a new interview, she elaborated on how she discovered she had broken her neck while filming the upcoming Arrowverse series.

While promoting the CW series on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Rose noted she had herniated two discs in her spine while filming the series pilot. Although she initially believed the pain and discomfort to be a broken rib, the sensation persisted for months while she was filming a movie in Romania where she similarly performed her own stunts. After receiving an MRI, Rose learned the true extent of her injury, with only a tiny portion of her spine not severed.

Running the risk of becoming paraplegic should she strain and move her back in even the slightest sensitive position, Rose underwent surgery to repair her spine, taking time off to recuperate before jumping back into filming the rest of the series.

Rose had shared an Instagram post, explaining the extent of the injury and the medical procedure to repair her spine, with a small scar visible on her neck from the surgery.
