Batwoman Will Feature a 'Pretty Serious' Batman Villain

Batwoman showrunner Caroline Dries promises the inclusion of a major Batman villain in an upcoming episode of The CW's new Arrowverse series.

"In episode 3, we have a pretty serious Batman villain show up thinking, 'I'm going to f—ing kill Batman," Dries told Entertainment Weekly.

Dries did not offer any clues as to which specific villain will be appearing. However, she did say, "Batwoman is the only Caped Crusader in town. We'll have bad guys show up wearing their own versions of disguises, but in terms of costumed good guys or bad guys, it's just Kate in hers."

Set within The CW's Arrowverse, Batwoman takes place in a world where Bruce Wayne (and thus, Batman) has disappeared from Gotham City. Bruce's cousin, Kate Kane, is left to serve as the city's new protector.

While series star Ruby Rose recently had to back out of her appearance at Comic-Con International in San Diego this year, Warner Bros. Preview Night attendees were treated to an early viewing of the series' pilot.

Written by Caroline Dries and developed by Bertlanti Productions and Warner Bros. Television, Batwoman stars Ruby Rose, Rachel Skarsten, Meagan Tandy, Camrus Johnson, Dougray Scott, Elizabeth Anweis and Nicole Kang. The series will premiere on Sunday, Oct. 6 and air on Sundays at 8 pm ET/PT.
