When Batwoman premieres on The CW, Kate Kane will have her hands full. Not only will she have to deal with the unhinged Alice but also the likes of Tommy Elliot, aka Hush, and Magpie, and we now have our first looks at the two ancillary villains.
As revealed by TVLine, Elliot will be played by Gabriel Mann. Meanwhile, Magpie will be played by Rachel Matthews. Both characters can be seen below:
Elliot was first confirmed for Batwoman at Comic-Con International in San Diego. "We're trying to find a different angle into these characters... so we're introducing the character of Tommy Elliot, who becomes the villain Hush," showrunner Caroline Dries said. She also revealed the show will explore the villain's origin before he takes on the mantle of Hush.
Hush was created by Jeph Loeb and Jim Lee and debuted in Batman #609. The villain was a childhood friend of Bruce Wayne and at a young age, the future villain attempted to kill his parents by cutting the brake line of their car, though his mother survived. He was eventually committed to a psychiatric ward, only to later return and attempt revenge against Bruce.
Magpie -- a curator at the Gotham Museum of Antiquities whose real name is Margaret Pye -- debuted in the pages of 1986's Batman #401, by John Byrne and Barbara Randell Kesel. The character terrorized Gotham socialites and she became obsessed with owning all priceless artifacts.
Written by Caroline Dries and developed by Berlanti Productions and Warner Bros. Television, Batwoman stars Ruby Rose, Rachel Skarsten, Meagan Tandy, Camrus Johnson, Dougray Scott, Elizabeth Anweis and Nicole Kang. The series will premiere on Sunday, Oct. 6 and air on Sundays at 8 p.m. ET/PT.
