This week's Arrowverse premieres have started off with a bang, as both the series premiere of Batwoman and the Season 5 premiere of Supergirl debuted to very high ratings on The CW.

According to Variety, Batwoman's pilot episode managed to draw in 1.8 million viewers and garnered a 0.5 rating, with the series outperforming both Legacies and Roswell, New Mexico when they debuted on The CW last year. The title character, played by Ruby Rose, debuted in last year's Arrowverse crossover event, "Elseworlds."

Meanwhile, over on Earth-38, Season 5 of Supergirl opened to a 0.4 rating and 1.3 million viewers. Both of these are considered exceptional in comparison to the previous season of the series, and with these ratings, it appears both shows are off to a strong start this season.

Written by Caroline Dries and developed by Berlanti Productions and Warner Bros. Television, Batwoman stars Ruby Rose, Rachel Skarsten, Meagan Tandy, Camrus Johnson, Dougray Scott, Elizabeth Anweis and Nicole Kang. The series airs on Sundays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on The CW.

Airing Sundays at 9 p.m. ET/PT on The CW, Supergirl stars Melissa Benoist as Kara Danvers, David Harewood as Martian Manhunter, Mehcad Brooks as Jimmy Olsen and Chyler Leigh as Alex Danvers.
