The first batch of photos from the Season 2 premiere of The CW's Batwoman introduces the newest Caped Crusader as Kate Kane's family and friends wonder where she's gone.

The CW released the photos, two of which were revealed this weekend. The images not only spotlight Hush masquerading as Bruce Wayne but reveal he'll have access to the Batcave and the new Batmobile. We also get a glimpse of Kate's family and friends, all desperate to learn what has happened to the original Batwoman. And of course, Javicia Leslie's Ryan Wilder debuts as the new Batwoman. Check them out below:

The photos of Hush in the Batcave are troubling, proving he'll be able to get in deep with Batwoman and her allies as part of Alice's ongoing plan for revenge. We also see that all of the characters will return, despite the absence of Kate. Colonel Kane will even resort to turning on the Bat-Signal, while we see Sophie reading what appears to be an emotional letter, possibly one from Kate explaining her absence.

With Ruby Rose gone from the series, the show will need to explain to both the characters and fans why the original Batwoman, and alter ego Kate Kane, disappeared without the actor to help facilitate the process. That issue, however, looks like it will play into the mystery of the new season and spur Leslie's Ryan Wilder to take on the mantle of Gotham's hero.

Batwoman star Ruby Rose exited the show earlier this year for a variety of reasons, including some related to COVID-19 and its impact on filming. She was replaced by Javicia Leslie, who'll play Ryan Wilder, a brand-new character who will take over as the Scarlet Knight in Kate Kane's absence. According to the character description, Ryan is very different from Kate, having spent years as a drug-runner and currently living in a van with her plant. Like Kate, she is gay and a highly skilled warrior, although their fighting styles differ greatly.
