A new poster for Season 2 of Batwoman has been released, featuring a new look at Javicia Leslie's Ryan Wilder.
The poster features Leslie clad in the full Batwoman suit, holding her cowl in one hand. Instead of the more natural hairstyle that featured prominently in previous photos of the suit, Leslie's hair is straightened, hinting that Wilder will utilize a separate hairstyle as Batwoman, as Kate Kane did. This style was teased in a former poster, but this new image gives us our best look yet.
Leslie was cast in August, replacing former series lead Ruby Rose who departed the role after Season 1. A character description for Ryan Wilder says that she is "nothing like Kate Kane," and spent years living on the streets and working as a drug-runner in Gotham City. The official trailer and photos for the Season 2 premiere -- appropriately titled "Whatever Happened To Kate Kane?" -- show Ryan stumbling upon Kate's Batsuit and battling the madman Hush, who has taken Bruce Wayne's face and identity.
The official synopsis for Season 2 of Batwoman also features new enemies such as the False Face Society and Shivaani Ghai's Safiyah. The False Face Society will begin distributing a perilous new drug known as Snakebite, while Safiyah -- who was teased in Season 1 -- arrives in Gotham with "plans for revenge."
Batwoman stars Javicia Leslie, Rachel Skarsten, Meagan Tandy, Camrus Johnson, Dougray Scott and Nicole Kang. Season 2 premieres on Sunday, Jan. 17 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on The CW.
