Batwoman: Ruby Rose Faced Emergency Surgery, Paralysis After Stunt Injury

Batwoman star Ruby Rose revealed she was almost left paralyzed after suffering a stunt injury, which required emergency surgery.

Rose shared the news in a personal video posted to her Instagram account. She captioned the video with the message, "To everyone asking about my new Pez dispenser scar on my neck... A couple of months ago I was told I needed an emergency surgery or I was risking becoming paralyzed... I had herniated two discs doing stunts, and they were close to severing my spinal chord. I was in chronic pain and yet couldn’t feel my arms..."

She went on to thank the doctor for everything he did, while also answering the question of why she allowed the surgery to be video recorded. "And to anyone asking why I let them video it.. Did you not watch that Greys anatomy episode where they left a towel in a patient??" she joked. "Also I wanted to see what happens when we go under."

Different variations of Batwoman have recently appeared in the DC Universe. The Young Justice team met the Batwoman of Earth-3, and the Batman Beyond future also debuted its Batwoman.
