WARNING: The following contains major spoilers for "It's Best You Stop Digging," the latest episode of Batwoman, which aired Sunday on The CW.

It's time for a Kane family reunion (maybe) on Batwoman.

The promo for Season 2, Episode 8, "Survived Much Worse," teases Alice (Rachel Skarsten) coming face to face with her sister Kate Kane on Coryana. Elsewhere, Ryan (Javicia Leslie) battles Safiyah's (Shivaani Ghai) armed guards after tracking Alice to the villain's hidden base of operations.

Besides introducing Ryan as Gotham's new Scarlet Knight, Batwoman Season 2 has so far focused on the mystery surrounding Kate's disappearance. Thanks to a bit of detective work, Alice discovered her old acquaintance Safiyah has been keeping Kate prisoner -- or, at least, that's what she claims -- on Coryana but was willing to let Alice see her in exchange for the latter killing a man named Ocean (Nathan Owens). However, Alice later uncovered the truth: she and Ocean were once romantically involved and planned to flee Coryana together, before Safiyah had them hypnotized to forget their relationship, having fallen in love with Alice herself. As it turns out, Safiyah was also the one responsible for making Alice obsessed with killing Kate.

Despite what the promo for "Survived Much Worse" indicates, Ruby Rose isn't expected to reprise her role as Kate in the episode. The actor departed Batwoman after Season 1, citing the ongoing coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic as one of the factors that led to her departure. "I would totally [return]," Rose said, when asked it she would come back, before adding "I don't think it would serve the story because I think building the new Batwoman is more important than going back too far into Kate Kane, but of course I would, I would absolutely do anything they wanted as far as that [Laughs]."
