A new promo for "Rebirth," the next episode of The CW's Batwoman, sees Arrow mainstay John Diggle arriving in Gotham City.

The video features Diggle, played again by David Ramsey, advising Luke Fox on his quest for justice. In the most recent episode, "Armed and Dangerous," Luke was shot by corrupt Crows agent Russell Tavaroff, who then went to unscrupulous lengths to protect himself from the consequences. Luke was saved by the efforts of Mary Hamilton and Evan Blake/Wolf Spider. The traumatic event appears to be the first step in Luke's journey towards becoming the armored hero Batwing.

Diggle's story, meanwhile, will be a continuation of what happened in the Arrow series finale, in which he found an alien box with a mysterious green glow inside. This appeared to be confirming the long-held theory that Diggle was the Arrowverse's incarnation of John Stewart and that what he found was a Green Lantern power ring. However, the story will be about Diggle refusing whatever call was heard. "Whatever was in the box, he refused the invitation of," Ramsey recently explained. "Let’s put it like that. But there are consequences to that."

The "Rebirth" promo also shows the first meeting of Ryan Wilder and Kate Kane. Ryan was added to the show to replace Kate after actor Ruby Rose decided to leave Batwoman. Her departure was written into the show as Kate disappearing under suspicious circumstances, with her eventually returning to the story played by Wallis Day. Her escape from the clutches of Black Mask and quest to reclaim her identity has been a subplot in the latter half of the second season.

Batwoman stars Javicia Leslie as Ryan Wilder, Rachel Skarsten as Alice, Meagan Tandy as Sophie Moore, Camrus Johnson as Luke Fox, Dougray Scott as Jacob Kane, Nicole Kang as Mary Hamilton-Kane and Wallis Day as Kate Kane. New episodes air Sundays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on The CW.
