A production assistant for The CW's Batwoman was paralyzed while working on the set of the superhero drama.

According to the woman's GoFundMe page, Amanda Smith was working on set when a bucket of a lift lowered onto her head, trapping her beneath it. She underwent significant spinal surgery and currently cannot feel anything below her waist. However, there is hope that she will regain sensations in her legs with the proper therapy.

Smith will be unable to work for the foreseeable future, and the money raised through the GoFundMe will help her get through this difficult time. At the time of this writing, the campaign had raised $34,380 out of a $50,000 goal.

This is not the first time someone from Batwoman suffered a significant on-set injury. Titular star Ruby Rose was nearly left paralyzed after a stunt injury back before the series premiered. Rose underwent surgery and recovered from her injury.

Created by Caroline Dries and developed by Berlanti Productions and Warner Bros. Television, Batwoman stars Ruby Rose, Rachel Skarsten, Meagan Tandy, Camrus Johnson, Dougray Scott, Elizabeth Anweis and Nicole Kang. The series airs Sundays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on The CW.
