Killer Croc is coming to the Arrowverse's Gotham City in Batwoman Season 3.

The synopsis for Season 3, Episode 2, "Loose Teeth," teases the character's arrival as follows: "When a new incarnation of Gotham's swamp slumming Killer Croc surfaces and starts racking up a body count, the inaugural team-up of Batwoman (Javicia Leslie) and Alice (Rachel Skarsten) is put to the test. But Alice isn't the only unwanted intrusion into Ryan's life when Jada Jet (Robin Givens) shows up at Wayne Enterprises, insisting on meeting the company's new CEO. Luke (Camrus Johnson) and Mary’s (Nicole Kang) relationship is strained under the weight of a secret Luke is keeping, while Sophie (Meagan Tandy) finds herself becoming part of Ryan’s inner circle."

Batwoman Season 2 ended with the various Batman villain trophies -- Killer Croc's tooth among them -- from Bruce Wayne's collection being scattered into Gotham River and washing ashore, setting the stage for multiple members of the Caped Crusader's rogues gallery to appear in Season 3. The Batwoman Season 3 trailer offered a sneak peek at one such super-villain in the form of the Mad Hatter, although it also featured some footage of what several fans quickly realized was Ryan battling the new Killer Croc.

Created by Gerry Conway, Gene Colan and Don Newton, Waylon Jones/Killer Croc made his first full appearance in 1983's Detective Comics #524 and suffers from a genetic disorder that gives him a crocodile-like look, complete with scaly skin and razor-sharp teeth. Killer Croc appeared in numerous Batman comic book stories and animated series before making his live-action debut in 2016's DC Extended Universe film Suicide Squad, with Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje playing the role. In spite of its decidedly negative critical reception, Suicide Squad won an Oscar for its Best Makeup and Hairstyling, including the practical effects used to transform Akinnuoye-Agbaje into a reptilian human.

Among the other super-villains confirmed for Batwoman Season 3 so far are Pamela Isley/Poison Ivy, who will be played by Agent Carter alum Bridget Regan. Season 3 will also introduce Renee Montoya to the Arrowverse, with Victoria Cartegena -- who portrayed a different version of the character on FOX's Gotham TV series -- playing the ex-Gotham City Police Department officer.

Batwoman Season 3 premieres Oct. 13 on The CW.
