Batwoman Season 3

Season 2 of Batwoman ended with a number of pieces of paraphernalia from Batman's rogues gallery washing up on the shores of Gotham, setting the stage for familiar villains from the Dark Knight mythos to make their Arrowverse debuts. "Obviously it's a pretty intense cliffhanger," showrunner Caroline Dries said in June 2021. "The tease we're making the audience is, 'These are loose out in the wild.' So anyone can literally come and pick them up... DC was so awesome about it because we're always looking, and as are they, for new ways of showing canon characters, and some of these characters have been done so many times that we're always looking for that new angle. In leading with the weapon first, which is always a big part of the rogues, it allows us way more freedom to kind of do something that we haven't seen before. There weren't really any obstacles."

"It's crazy," Creegan recently said about playing Batwoman's Joker, making him the first Black actor to portray a version of the Clown Prince of Crime in live-action. "It's wild, actually. Yeah, I've done a lot of processing the past few weeks, months, you know? It's still surreal to me. It's been a wild ride for me. You know, the reception of the new Joker, being the first person of color to play this role -- the messages and the love I've been getting has just been overwhelming. It's been a fun ride."

It was in the same episode that turned Marquis into The Joker that Kang's new Poison Ivy made her debut. "I'm so excited to bring you Poison Ivy," Kang said in November 2021. "She's here... finally! That's a sentence I never thought I'd say. Wow. In our story, I am most proud that Poison Ivy is an Asian villain whose danger does not stem from her foreignness or her mystique. Instead, we discover her personal motivations alongside those of the OG Poison Ivy's and see them intertwine in an organic and powerful way. I am so humbled to be a Korean girl in line behind THE Uma Thurman to play the next live action Poison Ivy (what?!). Hopefully the future holds space for others like me and beyond to portray one hell of a character. For everything you’ve let me feel, scream, and become through you, Poison Ivy -- thank you."
