DC FanDome's series of posters touting The CW's Arrowverse shows offered a tantalizing image for Batwoman -- without the show's new star.

While the other posters present a lead character, the Batwoman poster tweeted by The CW has a close-up image of the Bat-Signal instead of Javicia Leslie in the title role.

In a surprise decision, series lead Ruby Rose opted to leave the show at the end of Season 1. Rose starred as Bruce Wayne's cousin Kate Kane, who fights for Gotham City in his stead while he's missing. Instead of recasting the role, producers brought aboard Leslie as a new character, Ryan Wilder, a homeless, reformed drug runner described as a fighter who is "highly skilled and wildly undisciplined." Wilder, like Kane, is an out lesbian.

DC FanDome will launch on Aug. 22 at 10 a.m. PDT with an all-star lineup from DC's various properties and will offer sneak peeks at the many DC projects in the works. The event is free for online visitors worldwide, with many special announcements expected to emerge from the event.

Returning to The CW in January 2021, Batwoman stars Javicia Leslie, Rachel Skarsten, Meagan Tandy, Camrus Johnson, Dougray Scott and Nicole Kang. The series airs Sundays at 8 p.m. ET/PT.
