The Batmobile almost made its Arrowverse debut in Batwoman Season 1. According to showrunner Caroline Dries, Batman's famous ride was originally slated to arrive in the Season 1 finale, although those plans were ultimately derailed by the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. However, she feels this ended up working for the best, since the new vehicle debuted alongside the new series lead in the Season 2 premiere.

"We actually originally had plans to see it at the end of Season 1, and that's when we started designing it, but COVID had other plans for us," Dries explained. "So it actually worked out great. I will say that we got to introduce it as a new character in the premiere. It just feels a little bit more premiere worthy anyway."

"We designed it based on a new Corvette chassis. So we then VFX the wings and all the extra gack on it. Our production designer actually ended up designing the car, and then I just saw it and was like, 'Yes, love it, do it,'" she recalled. "And then our props guys design the inside of the car."

"You know, it worked out great this season because with a new Batwoman, she has a new form of transportation. So we'll see as she kind of takes it on as her own set of wheels, and it's just super fun. It's just a whole new world of different gadgets that can fly out of there and different stunt sequences we can do, so we're really looking forward to it," she added.

As it turns out, the Batmobile never left the Batcave, despite Bruce Wayne's absence. In the Season 2 premiere, Tommy "Hush" Elliot discovered it by using a sticky grenade launcher to blow up the walls at random. One such explosion revealed a separate room with the Batmobile intact. He used this to pursue Ryan Wilder, the new Batwoman, but ultimately met defeat at her hands. As such, the Batmobile is back with its rightful owners, which means Ryan will get to take it for a spin sooner rather than later.

Airing Sundays at 8 pm ET/PT on The CW, Batwoman stars Javicia Leslie as Ryan Wilder, Rachel Skarsten as Alice, Meagan Tandy as Sophie Moore, Camrus Johnson as Luke Fox, Dougray Scott as Jacob Kane and Nicole Kang as Mary Hamilton-Kane.
