Since the pilot episode of Batwoman, many fans have most likely been wondering about the circumstances that turned Kate Kane's twin sister Beth into the psychotic Alice. Now, a new promo for next week's episode, "Mine Is a Long And a Sad Tale," teases that questions will be answered, while also showing tidbits of Alice's disturbing backstory.

As the promo begins, Kate asks Beth what happened to her, followed by a scene of young Beth seeing a human face in a sink and screaming in horror. Beth then tells her sister that she'll tell her her "long, sad tale" while twirling.

More flashes of Beth's past are then seen, showing the poor girl being held captive. They may also indicate that Beth was abused during her time in captivity, as one scene sees her being pushed into a room. Finally, the promo ends with Beth sorrowfully telling Kate she waited for her before the series' title card appears.

Helmed by Caroline Dries and developed by Berlanti Productions and Warner Bros. Television, Batwoman stars Ruby Rose, Rachel Skarsten, Meagan Tandy, Camrus Johnson, Dougray Scott, Elizabeth Anweis and Nicole Kang. The series airs Sundays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on The CW.
