Kate Kane's main antagonist for Season 1 of the CW's Batwoman, Alice, is front-and-center in a new promo for the show.
In the new promo, Alice is shown pouring a blue liquid into a tea cup as the words "curiouser and curiouser" repeat in the background. "Curiouser and curiouser" is a quote said by the character Alice in Alice in Wonderland. The promo also shows a newspaper with the headline: "Is He Back?"
A popular villain in the Batwoman comics, Alice is known for wearing Victorian-era attire and frequently quoting Lewis Carroll's Alice in Wonderland. While she first appeared in the comics as a mysterious figure, it is later learned that Alice is actually Beth Kane, the twin sister of Kate. Alice is played by Rachel Skarsten in the CW show, who is known for her work on Wynonna Earp, Reign, Imposters and more. She also played Dinah Lance in the early 2000's Birds of Prey show, which, like Batwoman, was based on a DC comic.
Written by Caroline Dries and developed by Bertlanti Productions and Warner Bros. Television, Batwoman stars Ruby Rose, Rachel Skarsten, Meagan Tandy, Camrus Johnson, Dougray Scott, Elizabeth Anweis and Nicole Kang. The series will premiere on Sunday, Oct. 6 and air on Sundays at 8 pm ET/PT.
