The CW's Batwoman has announced the addition of two new cast members to the ever-growing roster of the Arrowverse.

According to Deadline, newcomers Leah Gibson (Jessica Jones) and Nathan Owens (Devious Maids) have been cast as characters named Tatiana and Ocean, respectively. Tatiana is a skilled assassin known as "The Whisper" who has a fierce loyalty to her boss Safiyah. It is possible Tatiana may be in part based on DC character Whisper D'Aire, a member of the League of Assassins. Ocean is a zen gardener and loyal soldier who comes to Gotham looking for a fresh start.

Gibson and Owens join other new Batwoman cast members Javicia Leslie and Shivani Ghai. Leslie took over the role of Batwoman from Ruby Rose, who chose to exit The CW series. Leslie's iteration of the hero, Ryan Wilder, will be a different character entirely than Rose's Kate Kane. Wilder is described as "the most dangerous type of fighter: highly skilled and wildly undisciplined. An out lesbian. Athletic. Raw. Passionate. Fallible. And very much not your stereotypical All-American hero."

Ghai, however, will be taking on the role of Season 2's big bad Safiyah. In the comics, her character shares a romantic history with Kane, but the series instead opted for Safiyah to have a backstory with Kane's estranged sister, Alice. She is described as a "woman with as many enemies as aliases" and the "fiercely protective ruler of a small community on the island of Coryana."

Returning to The CW in Jan. 2021, Batwoman stars Javicia Leslie, Rachel Skarsten, Shivani Ghai, Leah Gibson Nathan Owens, Meagan Tandy, Camrus Johnson, Dougray Scott and Nicole Kang. The series airs Sundays at 8 p.m.
