"Battlestar Galactica's" Aaron Douglas Joins "Flash" In Rogue Role

When "The Flash" returns to the CW on Tuesday, January 19, Barry Allen will have a new rogue to face off against. Entertainment Weekly has learned that "Battlestar Galactica" alum Aaron Douglas will play the Turtle in the midseason premiere episode. As opposed to the comics where the turtle is a scientific genius that used slowness to battle the Flash, Douglas' Turtle will be a meta-human with the ability to slow down time.

"In a surprisingly funny twist, Cisco [Carlos Valdes] has actually been hunting The Turtle the entire series," executive producer Andrew Kreisberg told EW. "To Barry's surprise, everybody knows about Cisco's hunt for the great white whale, which is The Turtle; he's the only one who didn't know about it. We love the idea that there was a villain out there that they knew about, but they just haven't bothered to tell the audience about yet. All Barry wants to do is get faster, because if he can get faster, he can take on Zoom. He's going up against a villain who is literally slowing him down. This is one of our best episodes coming back that we've ever done. It feels big and emotional."

You can see Douglas' take on the Turtle briefly in a previously released promo for the episode, which is titled "Positive Energy." And in case you miss quick Douglas' cameo in the promo, there's a screengrab below.
