Official Press Release
The final in-store date for the acclaimed Image Comics mini-series BATTLE HYMN has been set. Readers and critics alike responded enthusiastically to the story of World War II super-heroics gone horribly wrong, and the entire saga will be in stores the second week of February.
The first of three scheduled collaborations by acclaimed creators B. Clay Moore (HAWAIIAN DICK, EXPATRIATE) and Jeremy Haun (DESPERADOES, PARADIGM), the beautiful BATTLE HYMN: FAREWELL TO THE FIRST GOLDEN AGE trade paperback collects the five issue mini-series in one volume, along with over a dozen pages of bonus material, including concept sketches and an illustrated essay on the origins of several BATTLE HYMN characters (some of whom will be appearing in a new series later this year).
In naming BATTLE HYMN on of “2005’s Best Mini-Series,” Buzzscope says:
“Find everything by B. Clay Moore because he can write some damn good comics…Moore’s style places readers right into the action, forcing them to keep up while bracing for the visual money-shots from Jeremy Haun.”
And Wizard Magazine says:
“With political emotions raging, Moore and Haun’s tale stands as a parable that speaks to our generation’s mixed feelings about the government and its hidden intentions. BATTLE HYMN marches with substance and style.”
The order code for BATTLE HYMN: FAREWELL TO THE FIRST GOLDEN AGE is AUG05 1657. The trade is 152 pages, and will retail for $14.99
Other B. Clay Moore/Jeremy Haun collaborations include the upcoming G.I. JOE SPECIAL MISSIONS: MANHATTAN (out in February: Diamond Order Code: DEC05 2955), and the upcoming Oni Press five issue mini-series THE LEADING MAN (scheduled for late spring/early summer).
