The Jurassic World franchise continues to expand with an upcoming final instalment in the trilogy, a new kids' show and now a new live-action short-film. The excitingly titled Battle at Big Rock was recently announced by Jurassic World director Colin Trevorrow on Twitter.
Trevorrow teased the short with a poster featuring a warning sign, captioned with a quote from Ian Malcolm in Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, "These creatures were here before us. And if we're not careful, they'll be here after." The upcoming short film is set in the same universe as the rest of the saga.

The director also revealed that the short stars André Holland, Natalie Martinez, Melody Hurd and Pierson Salvador, and that Battle at Big Rock, co-written by Emily Carmichael (Pacific Rim: Uprising), will premiere on FX on Sunday, September 15. For those without access to the channel, Trevorrow also explained that the short will be made available online immediately after it airs.
While details are scarce, for the most part, there have been reports that Battle at Big Rock takes place a year after the events of Fallen Kingdom, which saw the dinosaurs of Isla Nublar transported to the continent and subsequently set free. The short follows a family of four in a desperate fight for survival against these creatures, not all of which -- as fans will know -- are peaceful herbivores.
