Battle Angel, First Class, DK Rises: Feb 1st Comic Reel

James Cameron offers an update on the project to Collider. “I’m obviously going to be pretty busy for the next five years [with Avatar 2 and 3]. And so I had to consider, do I hand this project off to another director? And then I thought, ‘No, I love it too much,'” he says. So, expect that film, which Cameron was developing along side “Avatar,” sometime after 2016.

Release date: Sometime after 2016

Twitter user MuscleNerd uploaded a few photos from the set to Twitpic (via MTV News). Here’s a group shot for you:

Superhero Hype reports that Bleeding Cool’s Brendon Connelly asked some questions of DKR cinematographer Wally Pfister while on the Kevin and Josh Movie Show. The key answer is this, “This is something she wanted and wanted to show Chris, ‘I’m the one for this job’ and she did an incredible job… and she looked phenomenal in the wardrobe. It’s going to be amazing with her.” Does that wardrobe include a catsuit? “I’ll get fired and I won’t even get to shoot the picture!” says Pfister when pressed about the possibly of a costume.

Release date: July 20th, 2012

As our pals at Spinoff Online reported, Cap graces the cover of Empire Magazine for its March issue. In other Cap news, Dominic Cooper tells the Vulture a little bit about Howard Stark. “We learn the whole idea of where Stark Industries comes from, which is out of pure curiosity and creative juices and excitement towards thinking of the future and developing things for good. He’s a Howard Hughes. He’s a guy that loves inventing, that’s extremely intelligent, and that loves his lifestyle as well,” he says. “You’re never quite sure where he’s been or where he’s just come from. And it’s always like he’s just come from somewhere in a tuxedo, from showing people his inventions and his new flying machines. He’s great fun.”

Starring Chris Evans, release date: July 22nd, 2011

Italian film site Every Eye (via Superhero Hype, Shock Till You Drop) has a few stills from the film, which will be released in Italy on March 16th. Here’s one of them:

Star (and producer) Hugh Jackman tells The Los Angeles Times Hero Complex blog that he’s very happy with how the upcoming “Wolverine” film is shaping up. “I feel like all the planets are finally aligned to make a great movie. We finally have the character and with this mythology,” he says. According to Jackman, he’s wanted to do the Japan story since “X-Men 3,” but agreed with producer Lauren Schuler Donner to establish the character as the star of his own series first. He’s also bulked up to 210 pounds per director Darren Aronofsky’s instruction. “Darren said with the last one, ‘Hey you looked great, but you’re so tall that in those long shots you looked kind of like Clint Eastwood, and that’s not Wolverine.’ He said that Wolverine, in the comics, is powerful, stocky, you know, he’s short and thick. So he said, ‘I want you to go there, get bigger.’

Release date: 2012?

Other than the release date shift, we haven’t heard much on the “John Carter” front. Now, MTV News gets a few words out of director Andrew Stanton on the project:

Directed by Andrew Stanton, release date: March 9th, 2012
