DC Extended Universe architect Zack Snyder shared a new image of Ben Affleck's Batmobile in celebration of Christmas.

In a post to Vero, a social media platform that Snyder has frequently used to share images and behind-the-scenes looks from his films, the director shared a look at the Batmobile against a winter backdrop, complete with the Northern Lights. His caption reads, "Christmas Batmobile." While it's definitely the DCEU's Batmobile, the picture itself doesn't seem to be from any specific movie.

In 2013, Snyder kicked off the DCEU with Man of Steel, a film centered around Clark Kent/Superman (Henry Cavill). He then returned to the director's seat for 2016's Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. That film introduced Affleck's Bruce Wayne/Batman to the DCEU and featured him fighting against Superman before the two eventually teamed up to take down Lex Luthor (Jesse Eisenberg) and the monstrous Doomsday.

Snyder's final film in the DCEU, 2017's Justice League, experienced a lot of behind-the-scenes trouble. Snyder eventually departed the project following the death of his daughter. Avengers director Joss Whedon then took over for Snyder and helmed extensive reshoots. Upon release, Justice League performed poorly at the box office, only earning $657.9 million at the worldwide box office against a budget of $300 million. This put Justice League far below the film's projected break-even point and caused the movie to effectively lose money for Warner Bros.

Following the release of Justice League, fans began a campaign to get the director's original vision restored. While it was initially unclear just what would happen, Warner Bros. officially announced Zack Snyder's Justice League in 2020. The movie, which is closer to Snyder's original vision for the film, released on HBO Max earlier this year and was generally considered by critics to be an improvement upon the theatrical version.

After leaving the DCEU, Snyder signed a first look deal with Netflix and began releasing films in his Army of the Dead franchise on the streaming service. Currently, there are two movies in that series: Army of the Dead and Army of Thieves. Both of those films released in 2021. There are currently plans for a sequel to Army of the Dead called Planet of the Dead. That project does not have a release date at this time.
