Batman's underground headquarters that resides under Wayne Manor (and a few other hidden locations around Gotham City) is known as the Batcave, and it houses the tools, equipment and vehicles he and the Bat-Family use in their never-ending fight against crime in their city.

Of course, while the Batcave is home to all kinds of crime-fighting essentials, it also serves as a trophy room filled with mementos and collectibles from the various cases worked by Batman and Robin that has continued to grow over the years to feature some weird inclusions that highlight the sometimes odd history of the Dynamic Duo.

10 Mister Freeze's Original Containment Suit And Freeze Gun

The villain known as Mr. Freeze first appeared in the Pre-Crisis continuity as Mr. Zero before he changed his villainous alter ego, and while his high-tech containment suit has become bulkier over the years, it was originally just a glass helmet connected to his cryo gear and freeze gun, which have been kept in the Batcave for years after their earliest encounter.

Batman's collection of freeze guns have proven beneficial a few times when he finds the Batcave under attack, especially when paired with other weapons like The Penguin's umbrellas that are also stored in the Batcave.

9 He Found And Kept The Gun That Killed His Parents

Batman and the gun that killed his parents as its melted down

Bruce Wayne was thrust into his life-long mission as Batman following the shooting of his parents in Crime Alley by Joe Chill, whose gun was sought after and found by the Dark Knight who later kept it in his Batcave.

That gun was used in the future by an evil Tim Drake in his role as Savior, and Batman himself almost added it to his arsenal in Batman: Year Two to match arms with Reaper. More recently, the history of the gun that killed the Waynes was retconned and revealed to have been melted down by Bruce in order to use as armor in his costume's bat-shaped insignia.

8 Jason Todd's Robin Costume Is Displayed As A Painful Reminder

The Batcave's trophies aren't always about remembering successful cases or odd moments in the career of the Dynamic Duo, as sometimes Batman likes to keep reminders of his failures as well to further inspire him to do better as the Dark Knight.

Following the death of Jason Todd/Robin II at the hands of The Joker during "Death in the Family," Bruce Wayne had his costume placed inside a display case in the Batcave so that he would never forget the loss of one of his soldiers. Even when Todd returned to life years later, the costume remained as a reminder to Batman.

7 Lex Luthor's Kryptonite Ring Is Kept In The Batcave

Superman giving Batman the Kryptonite Ring

One of the most dangerous weapons that Batman keeps in the Batcave isn't really deadly to anyone on Earth and was originally created by Lex Luthor as a secret weapon against his long-time enemy, Superman.

Luthor's Kryptonite ring is made from the deadly irradiated debris of Superman's home planet, though the long-term exposure to the Kryptonite ring eventually caused Luthor to develop cancer in his hand. Superman entrusted the deadly ring to Batman, who keeps it locked securely away in the Batcave for the next time Superman falls under the mental control of a villain.

6 A Giant Chess Board Has Been Seen In The Batcave

Batman and Robin faced off with a number of unique criminals during the early decades of comic storylines, and a number of them created devilish deathtraps using giant versions of everyday objects, like typewriters during their battle with The Thinker or even a giant bowling alley from their run-in with Checkmate who held court on a giant checkerboard.

While the giant chess board has only been seen a couple of times in the Batcave, it's definitely one of the weirdest inclusions as it calls back to a forgotten era of giant deathtraps that were so prevalent in the early Batman comics.

5 A Pair Of Giant Dice And A Joker Playing Card Are Mementos

Following a case that involved The Joker and a number of oversized casino games, Batman returned to the cave with new mementos like a pair of giant dice and a giant Joker playing card that had been seen in a few of Joker's various hideouts over the years.

While the dice aren't always seen in the Batcave and were actually destroyed in battle with Nightwing during the New 52, the giant Joker Playing Card is one of the most recognizable trophies in the Batcave and has been featured quite a few times by different artists over the years.

4 He Keeps A Multiversal Letter From His Flashpoint Father

Thomas Wayne's letter to Batman in the Batcave

The Flashpoint event was caused by Barry Allen/The Flash's manipulation of the timeline that created a wildly different DC universe that saw young Bruce Wayne killed instead of his parents in Crime Alley.

This led Thomas Wayne to take on the costumed identity of Batman instead of his son, while Martha Wayne was driven insane by her son's death and became Flashpoint's Joker. Barry worked alongside Thomas Wayne to restore the DC universe to the proper timeline,

3 A Giant Lincoln Penny From A Previous Case Still Stands

Batman and Robin and the giant penny in the Batcave

Arguably one of the most recognizable trophies in the Batcave, the giant US penny that is emblazoned with the profile of Abraham Lincoln has had a place of honor in Batman's underground headquarters for years.

The giant penny hails from an early case of the Dynamic Duo when they deal with a criminal named Joe Coyne who was also known as the Penny Plunderer. Coyne and his gang carried out a few penny-themed robberies that included the giant replication of a penny, which then found a home in the Batcave following the 1947 story in World's Finest Comics #30.

2 The Joker's Original Red Hood Outfit Has Its Own Case

Batman has quite a few display cases set up in the Batcave that house various costumes, which includes Jason Todd's aforementioned Robin costume as well as his father's original Halloween costume that served as Bruce Wayne's inspiration for his own costume.

However, one of Batman's greatest enemies also received his own display case to commemorate Batman's role in the creation of The Joker, as the original Red Hood helmet and tuxedo are also kept on display as a reminder.

1 A Giant Mechanical Tyrannosaurus Rex Doubles As Batcave Security

Another of the most famous and recognizable trophies that have been kept in the Batcave for years is the giant mechanical Tyrannosaurus Rex, which Batman first encountered in a deadly amusement park called Dinosaur Island.

While the T-Rex dominates the Batcave and is easily one of the weirdest trophies for a costumed adventure to keep in their headquarters, it also serves a secondary purpose as one of the Batcave's many security features and can be remote-controlled by a pilot like Alfred to deal with unwanted intruders.
