Since his introduction in 1975, Marc Spector, Marvel’s Moon Knight, has often been compared to DC’s Batman. For starters, the two are very similar: Both are billionaires who dress up in a costume and have been highly trained to fight crime. However, there are a few key differences that make people think that one could overtake the other.

Moon Knight has several other personalities in his head while Batman has the history and experience. Each of these incredibly dark characters has their own unique thing about them that have given them certain advantages over the years. To look at some of the specifics, here is our input on Batman v Moon Knight: who is the better fighter?

11 Enemy Power Level: Batman

Without a doubt, Batman has a more impressive rogues gallery than Moon Knight. From Joker all the way to Darkseid, Batman has taken down all sorts of adversaries. While Moon Knight has certainly taken down some powerful threats, his greatest enemy tends to be himself. While Batman struggles to fight the criminals of Gotham, Marc Spector continually battles the other personalities in his head.

While Khonshu is also a powerful Moon Knight villain, he is also a problem that Marc can’t just make go away, due to the bond the two share. While Moon Knight has defeated both the Egyptian moon and sun gods, Batman has also taken down the likes of Darkseid. While both possess impressive fighting skills, Batman has definitely taken down the more impressive foes.

10 Fighting Knowledge: Batman

Bruce Wayne began his combat training at a very early age. Over the years, he came to master several different fighting styles ranging well beyond just hand to hand combat. Marc Spector, while a formidable fighter, has only just received military training.

However, Spector’s other personalities are also familiar with other fighting styles, though none of them know nearly as much as Batman. Therefore, Batman is easily the better fighter in terms of combat knowledge alone.

9 Fighting Style: Moon Knight

Though Batman may have more knowledge of combat, Moon Knight is far from defenseless. Especially with his multiple personalities, Moon Knight has the advantage of being much more unpredictable during combat. A sudden shift in fighting style can easily throw Moon Knight's opponents off their rhythm, making him all the more deadly.

Moon Knight is also far more brutal than Batman, and thus, arguably more effective. Moon Knight has shown no remorse for killing his opponents and often leaves a bloodbath after every fight. While Batman purposefully holds back due to his morals, Moon Knight’s brutality alone makes him incredibly effective in any combat situation.

8 Allies: Batman

While both individuals claim to be loners, Batman is far from starved when it comes to allies. First off, he has the entire Justice League to back him up whenever he needs them. With the likes of Superman, Wonder Woman and Green Lantern, the Justice League is fairly close to being god-like. From there, Batman also has other members of the Batfamily. Each member of the Batfamily is also highly trained and arguable better than Batman in some way or another.

Though Marc Spector still has his fair share of allies, none of them are nearly as powerful as Batman’s. Though he typically doesn’t work alone, Moon Knight is much more of a loner than Batman and relies much more on himself than others.

7 Experience: Batman

Fortunately for Batman, he has over 80 years of publication history under his hefty utility belt. This means that Batman has encountered almost every scenario imaginable, and nearly always comes out on top. As mentioned previously, Batman’s problems tend to be external while Moon Knight’s tend to be internal.

Therefore, it makes sense that Batman would have accomplished much more in a greater amount of time, especially considering the type of character he is. Though Moon Knight has certainly still done a lot, he hasn’t even come close to accomplishing the things that Batman has done.

6 Personality: Moon Knight

Of course, the personality category must go to Moon Knight. Since he has several different personalities, there is more to like about him as a character in this sense. For the rare few who don’t like Batman, his personality is often cited as the reason. If you don’t like Marc Spector though, you still have a chance at liking Steven Grant or Jake Lockley.

Furthermore, those who do love Batman for his personality should have no issues liking at least one, if not all of Moon Knight’s. Moon Knight’s constant back and forth between personalities has also allowed for some more interesting and unique drama to be included in a superhero book, making him all the more intriguing of a character in general.

5 Strength: Tie

As far as physical strength goes, both characters are actually fairly weak, at least in comparison to other characters in their respective universes. Both men are in unbelievable shape and are stronger than the average man, but neither can lift an object of incredible weight.

While it is likely that one is actually stronger than the other, the two characters definitely have the potential to match each other in every way in this regard.

4 Equipment: Tie

Both heroes use a plethora of high tech gadgets and equipment that also fit with their respective themes. Both Bruce Wayne and Marc Spector have a vast amount of wealth and can, therefore, afford all sorts of advanced weapons for their war on crime.

Batman, of course, has batarangs and the batmobile, while Moon Knight has incredibly sharp, crescent moons that he uses in a similar manner. Each can use their tech to glide through the air or fly using their Batplane or Moonjet. While the characters both differ in some regard, they are scarily similar when it comes to their equipment.

3 Durability: Tie

Once again, the characters’ humanity greatly limits what they can accomplish. As normal men, the only protection they have is their suits. Despite being weaker characters, this is also what so many fans like about each character.

While Batman certainly has some more impressive armor, at their core, each of them is just as fragile as the other. However, both characters also have an incredible drive that makes them incredibly difficult to knockdown. While they are both decorated with scars, the two of them have won far more battles than they have lost.

2 Greatest Feat: Batman

Batman’s popularity combined with his long-running comic book history has led him to accomplish far bigger and greater things than Moon Knight has even come close to. For example, Batman has gone toe to toe with Superman on numerous occasions and lived to tell the tale.

Batman also shot and mortally wounded Darkseid himself in the pages of Final Crisis. Batman has survived encounters with gods and all sorts of other villains, most of whom are far more powerful than anyone Moon Knight has ever encountered.

1 Winner: Batman

Granted, Batman certainly has time on his side. Furthermore, the character's immense popularity has only helped him accomplish more in his many years. However, looking at the two, the only advantage that Moon Knight truly has over Batman is in his other personalities.

In being an unpredictable fighter, Marc Spector may actually be able to gain an advantage. However, due to Batman’s experience and combat training, it is still unlikely that Spector would be able to take the Caped Crusader down. Likewise, Batman’s skills have made him one of the most accomplished heroes in his universe, meaning that Moon Knight still has a lot to learn.
