Following rumors she will join Matt Reeves' The Batman as Catwoman, Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw star Vanessa Kirby has set the record straight.

When ET brought up the rumors, Kirby said, "I don’t know anything about it," though she did mention it would be a dream to play Catwoman. The actor went on to talk about the workout routine she'd have to follow if she played Catwoman, saying, "Oh my god, are you kidding? I have to do lots of squats. I mean, literally, lots of squats."

Kirby has appeared in many films, TV series and theater productions. Recently, she appeared in 2018's Mission: Impossible – Fallout. In the upcoming Hobbs and Shaw, she will play Hattie Shaw, a MI6 field agent and sister of Jason Statham's Deckard Shaw. Hobbs and Shaw is set to release on August 2.

Catwoman has been portrayed on-screen several times by actors including Michelle Pfeiffer, Camren Bicondova, Eartha Kitt, Halle Berry and Anne Hathaway. There has been no official confirmation that the character will appear in The Batman.

The Batman is directed and written by Matt Reeves, who will also produce alongside Dylan Clark. The film is scheduled to be released on June 25, 2021.
