According to key specialty costumer, Douglas J. Stewart, the Robin suit that appeared in 2016's Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice actually started out as a stunt Batman suit.

Stewart shared an image of the suit, in which it lacks Robins classic red and yellow color scheme, on Instagram. "Robin, started with the cannibalized stunt bat suit," he said of the design. "Snipped, nipped, trimmed and tucked. A Robin suit was in there. Wrapped on a special fiberglass form to enhance his anatomy."

In Batman v Superman, Robin's suit was featured in the Batcave and was spray-painted with graffiti that read, "Hahaha, Joke's on you Batman." The film's director, Zack Snyder, would later confirm that the Joker did in fact murder the Dick Grayson version of Robin in the DC Extended Universe. The cause of his death hasn't been revealed, however, Snyder did recently respond to a fan theory that speculated Robin died in a similar manner to Jason Todd's death in the comics.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice introduced Ben Affleck's version of Batman/Bruce Wayne. Affleck, along with all the main cast members from 2017's Justice League, are set to appear in Zack Snyder's Justice League. Several other characters not included in the theatrical version of Justice League will also appear in Zack Snyder's Justice League, including Darkseid and Martian Manhunter.
