The Ultimate Edition of "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" will not only consist of an extended version of Zack Snyder's film, but a slew of new bonus features. To accommodate all that data, the film will be released in 4K Blu-ray 100GB triple-layer format.

Inside CI reports that this release will make Warner Bros. the first major studio to utilize the high capacity format for a home release. Though more consumers are finding their way towards digital streaming every day, there is a quality and bonus feature capacity with physical formats that some believe just can't be matched. WB choosing to go with such a new and pricier option certainly seems to be a sign they agree.

Due out July 19, the "Batman v Superman" Ultimate Edition will feature a three-hour cut of the film that adds new storylines and characters, and carries an R rating. It'll also contain the theatrical cut of the movie. Bonus material includes featurettes like Uniting the World's Finest, Gods and Men: A Meeting of Giants, The Warrior, The Myth, The Wonder, Accelerating Design: The New Batmobile, Superman: Complexity & Truth, Batman: Austerity & Rage, Wonder Woman: Grace & Power, Batcave: Legacy of the Lair, The Might and the Power of a Punch, The Empire of Luthor, and Save the Bats.

Starring Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill and Gal Gadot, "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice - Ultimate Edition" will also arrive on Digital HD June 28.
