In addition to having a massive opening in the United States, "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice's" opening weekend proved to be a record-breaker in the U.K.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the film earned $20.7 million in the U.K. during its opening weekend, giving it the biggest opening of the year in the U.K. This bests "Deadpool," which scored $19.5 million when it opened in February.

The film also earned the biggest opening weekend, from Friday to Sunday, in the U.K. of any superhero film ever; however, the film drops to third behind "Avengers" and "Avengers: Age of Ultron" when Thursday night preview earnings are added into the opening weekend totals.

So far "Batman v Superman" has earned $166 million domestically and an additional $254 million internationally, bringing it's total worldwide haul to $420 million in its opening weekend.

"Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" is currently in theaters.
