Though it wasn’t another record-breaking night for “Batman v Superman,” it was close; “G.I. Joe Retaliation” maintains the record for best Thursday in March with $10.5m. Similarly, “Batman v Superman’s” domestic total ($209m) falls just behind “Iron Man 3,” which raked in $212.4m in its first seven days.
“Batman v Superman” now stands at $409m worldwide. The film is expected to pull in another $59m – $66m this weekend; if it does so, it’ll surpass “American Sniper” for the best second weekend ever for a pre-summer release.
