Behold! The bat monstrosity from Bruce Wayne's nightmares has surfaced online. On his Instagram, Patrick Tatopoulos -- who acted as production designer on "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" -- recently shared concept art of a horrific bat creature that appeared in Bruce Wayne's nightmare.

The bat creature appeared in one of Bruce Wayne's Knightmare sequences, where Batman fell asleep and dreamed that this bat creature burst out of his parents' crypt. In another sequence, Bruce dreamed visions of a future controlled by Superman. Additionally, the scene hinted heavily at the arrival of DC Comics baddie Darkseid by including Parademons and Darkseid's signature Omega symbol. Since these scenes in particular had a heavy sci-fi/fantasy lean to them, Tatopoulos' bat creature certainly wasn't out of place.

Tatopoulos created the bat creature's design and produced it in Photoshop himself. Steve Wang and Thomas Floutz worked on fabrication, makeup and application.

In addition to "Batman v Superman," Tatopoulos has contributed to films such as "Independence Day," "I am Legend," "I, Robot," "AVP: Alien vs. Predator" and the "Underworld" series. He also worked with "Batman v Superman" director Zack Snyder on "300: Rise of an Empire." Tatopoulos will continue his work with the DC Extended Universe as production designer on "Justice League," which hits theaters this fall.

Starring Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill and Gal Gadot, “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” is now available for purchase on Digital HD, Blu-ray and DVD. Opening Nov. 17, 2017, “Justice League” stars Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Gal Gadot, Jason Momoa, Ezra Miller, Raymond Fisher, Willem Dafoe, Jesse Eisenberg, Jeremy Irons, Diane Lane, Connie Nielsen and J.K. Simmons.

Update: An earlier version of this story incorrectly reported that the creature above was scrapped from the film. This has since been corrected.
