While the numbers they're pulling in overall may be telling different tales for their respective studios, there is one thing Warner Bros. "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" and 20th Century Fox's "Deadpool" have in common: Imax numbers.

Variety reports that due to the performance of the franchise films, the company behind the large-screen format of movie theater saw a major boost in its first quarter sales. Overall, Imax net profits went up $12.2 million from the $1.1 million earned over the same period in 2015.

And it's not likely that the mutually beneficial relationship between the widescreens and superhero fare will stop any time soon. Incoming Imax films include "X-Men: Apocalypse" and "Captain America: Civil War" which saw 30 minutes of its action sequences shot with Imax's patented cameras.
