Actor and comedian Hasan Minhaj has been tapped to star as the Riddler opposite Winston Duke's Bruce Wayne in the Batman Unburied scripted podcast.

Minhaj, who is perhaps best known for hosting the Netflix talk show Patriot Act, joins the other diverse and talented performers lending their voices to iconic characters from Batman lore, with Spotify also announcing the involvement of Lance Reddick and Toks Olagundoye as Thomas and Martha Wayne, respectively, as well as the casting of Ashly Burch as journalist Vicki Vale and John Rhys-Davies as Bruce Wayne's psychiatrist Dr. Hunter. Rounding out the cast is Harry Potter and Star Trek: Discovery actor Jason Isaacs as Batman's faithful butler Alfred Pennyworth.

The audio drama is intended to be the first of many such collaborations between Spotify and DC. It promises to deliver a deep dive into the psychology of Gotham's Dark Knight through the unique lens of the audio medium. The existence of this project is symptomatic of the multiversal approach WB is taking with its DC properties.

The company is doubling down on greenlighting Batman-related projects, with a spinoff of The Batman starring Penguin in development at HBO Max, alongside the previously announced Gotham PD series. This is in addition to the recent casting of Leslie Grace as Barbara Gordon for a standalone HBO Max Batgirl movie rumored to feature J.K. Simmons as Commissioner Gordon.

Batman Unburied is expected to release later this year.
