The DC FanDome event has rounded out the cast list for the upcoming scripted podcast Batman: Unburied.

The video begins with Gina Rodriguez announcing that she will voice Barbara Gordon in the series. Barbara is described as "the daughter of former police commissioner Jim Gordon and star detective for Gotham PD," who, over the course of the series, will "grapple with her own ethics, as she tries to keep within the lines of police work yet is finding herself drawn to Batman’s self-styled method of justice." Rodriguez is known for playing the title characters in both The CW's Jane the Virgin and Netflix's Carmen Sandiego.

Joining Rodriguez will be Sam Witwer (Star Wars: The Clone Wars) as The Harvester, "Gotham’s blood-chilling, cannibalistic serial killer;" Emmy Raver-Lampman (The Umbrella Academy) as Kell, "A sultry medical student helping Bruce while hiding a few secrets of her own;" Jessica Marie Garcia (On My Block) as Renee Montoya, Barbara's partner in the GCPD who is "smart enough to pick up Barbara’s bullshit, but begrudgingly puts up with her shady behavior;" and Jim Pirri (Red Dead Redemption 2) as Arnold Flass, "A corrupt cop who uses his badge for his own person gain."

They join Jason Isaacs as Alfred Pennyworth, Hasan Minhaj as the Riddler, Lance Reddick as Thomas Wayne, Toks Olagundoye as Martha Wayne, John Rhys-Davies as psychiatrist Dr. Hunter, Ashly Burch as Vicki Vale and Winston Duke starring as Bruce Wayne/Batman.

Duke himself included a clip in the casting announcement, saying "I am so excited, so honored, to be joining the DC family with Batman: Unburied [and] with Spotify. We have been cooking up something very, very special for you. We've been creating something that's nuanced and beautiful, with great characters, great voices and just a beautiful experience. So in that vane, I am Batman!"

Unburied will see screenwriter David S. Goyer return to writing the Caped Crusader, having worked on the scripts for the Dark Knight trilogy and Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice. "I’ve been a fan of narrative podcasts for some time and was looking for the right story — returning to Batman seems like the perfect opportunity," said Goyer. "We’ll be using the unique advantages of audio to dig into the more nightmarish members of the Dark Knight’s Rogues Gallery." Dawn Ostroff, Chief Content and Advertising Business Officer for Spotify, added, "David Goyer is an exceptional talent, and we can think of no better leader to leverage the infinite possibilities of podcasting to bring the nearly 300 million Spotify users around the world a Batman saga for the ages."

Batman: Unburied will release in 2021 on Spotify.
