WARNING: The following contains spoilers for Superman: Man of Tomorrow #19, from Dave Wielgosz, Jorge Corona, Mat Lopes, and Clayton Cowles, now available digitally.

Over the years, Batman has upgraded his arsenal, unveiling mind-boggling yet powerful weapons in his crusade for justice. There've been an array of war-suits in stories such as "The Dark Knight Returns", the "Superheavy" arc with Jim Gordon, as well as contingency plans in the "Tower of Babel.".

Most of them have been geared towards Superman, whom he considers Earth's greatest threat no matter what, with Kryptonite-infused tools inspiring adaptations such as Zack Snyder's Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice. However, Superman: Man of Tomorrow #19 puts an interesting spin on the suit concept, giving the Dark Knight his most powerful anti-Superman weapon ever.

When evil Men of Steel arrive from all over the Multiverse, Batman immediately thinks outside the box as he knows they'd expect him to wield a Kryptonite-laced suit. He's facing off against the likes of Bizarro and Ultraman, two of the most powerful enemies he could fathom, but Bruce does the unexpected by unveiling magical cloth gauntlets similar to what mummies wear.

He utters a spell that's influenced by Zatanna, giving him a mystical war-suit: one of his biggest and best yet. It has a medieval spin to it, truly making the Caped Crusader a supernatural knight as he knows sometimes, his universe's Kryptonite might not affect Supermen from other realms. The aliens are shocked but still rush in, with Bruce letting them know they're making a big mistake. They're underestimating someone who'll do whatever it takes to win, and there's an added bonus in that he knows magic annoys Supermen.

It's a weakness that most of them fall prey to across the Multiverse and it works out well here as he beats down the villains with increased abilities similar to when he rocked the Suit of Sorrows in 2007. It's a bit different to him becoming a Bat-God or sitting in Metron's chair, as it's a more direct and aggressive approach. As much as it pays dividends, though, it drains the Bat and has a time limit. It leaves the Justice Lord Superman waiting in the shadows, sitting back and when Bruce runs out of magical juice he steps out for a fight.

Still, it's proof the Bat has learned from spending time with Justice League Dark heroes and that he has several plans out of his character. As long as it doesn't involve guns or killing, Bruce is willing to put unique strategies in place and even his Superman, depowered and exhausted, can't help but admire the back-up plans in case he ever goes rogue as per the Injustice Universe.

It's why when they eventually beat the evil Batmen too, Superman acknowledges Bruce as the ideal partner in his mission to protect all reality, making him more selfless and a resilient Justice Leaguer along the way.
