WARNING: The following article contains spoilers for Batman: Three Jokers #3, by Geoff Johns, Jason Fabok, Brad Anderson and Rob Leigh, on sale now.

The bestselling DC Black Label miniseries Batman: Three Jokers ended with plenty of earth-shattering revelations for the Batman mythos, including major changes to several characters and lots of room for future stories to explore. In fact, writer Geoff Johns confirmed that he and artist Jason Fabok have since discussed the possibility of returning for a follow-up to Three Jokers.

While keeping the details under wraps, Johns hinted that the planned continuation would take its narrative cues from the epilogues closing out the initial miniseries' third and final issue. "Jay and I do have a story that we want to tell that springs off one of the many epilogues within it and we can't really talk much more about that right now, though," he told CBR.

The epilogues to Three Jokers certainly set up new directions for the Bat-Family and the Clown Prince of Crime to go next. From surprising details about The Joker's past and Batman possessing his own secrets about his longtime antagonist to Jason Todd and Barbara Gordon making fateful decisions about their crimefighting careers, Johns and Fabok have left themselves plenty of options for a follow-up to explore.

While DC itself has not definitively confirmed a sequel to Three Jokers is in the works, the original miniseries' widespread critical acclaim and astonishing sales success make the possibility of a follow-up highly likely.

The collected edition of Batman: Three Jokers, by Geoff Johns and Jason Fabok, goes on sale Nov. 17 from DC.
