The upcoming Three Jokers miniseries, which writer Geoff Johns set up all the way back in his Justice League run, will finally hit shelves next month. Ahead of its release, series artist Jason Fabok explained how one variant cover pays homage to the Clown Prince of Crime's early days.On Twitter, Fabok shared his "jailed Joker" variant, which shows the Clown Prince gripping the bars of a jail cell and flashing his trademark smile. "A look at the Joker Behind Bars cover for Batman: Three Jokers!" he wrote. "You still have a little more time to pre-order the book but the date is fast approaching when orders will be closed. According to Fabok, the cover is an homage to a panel from Batman #1, all the way back from the Golden Age of comics in the 1940s. He noted that his version also drew inspiration from Jack Nicholson's Joker in Batman (1989), citing his "1940s gangster" vibe as matching feel he was going for.
