In August, writer Geoff Johns, artist Jason Fabok and colorist Brad Anderson will begin uncovering the mystery of the three Jokers who appear to currently exist in the DC Universe. The revelations begin in the first issue of Batman: Three Jokers, a three-issue prestige format miniseries.

To celebrate, DC and artist Jason Fabok are offering a total of 15 different covers across the three issues of the series. Along with the standard Joker covers, there will be three covers featuring the protagonists of the series and another nine covers depicting versions of The Joker from throughout his colorful history. Fabok recently released a video to his YouTube channel promoting the series, in which he offers some analysis of the variant covers and their links to Joker's history, as well as a look into his creative process, noting the parts of each of the covers that hearken back to a former iteration of the character.

The Joker variants focus mainly on three eras of the Joker's history: his original appearance in Batman #1, his murder of Jason Todd in A Death in the Family and his brutal assault of Barbara Gordon in The Killing Joke.

Though focusing on the covers, the artist also adds a request that fans buy the comics at their local comic shop as a way of supporting the frontlines of the industry that have suffered a great deal during the ongoing coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
