Fresh off the confirmation of its release date, DC has provided a first look at the opening issue of Geoff Johns and Jason Fabok's upcoming DC Black Label miniseries Batman: Three Jokers.

The preview pages, illustrated by Fabok and colored by Brad Anderson, show the Dark Knight returning to stately Wayne Manor after an especially rough night defending Gotham City. After accidentally driving into his father's gravestone with the Batmobile, a profusely bleeding Batman is escorted to the Batcave where he is prepped for surgery by Alfred Pennyworth.

As Batman and Alfred gingerly enter the Batcave, the Caped Crusader's dark connections to his greatest foe can be seen, from confiscated weaponry from to memorials for Jason Todd and Barbara Gordon's time in their own costumed personas encased in glass.

First hinted at in Johns and Fabok's final Justice League story closing out the New 52 era, Three Jokers will be released in three 48-page prestige format issues, with the story focusing on Batman, Batgirl and Red Hood's traumatic history with the Clown Prince of Crime.
