After what's felt like a lifetime for fans, Geoff Johns and Jason Fabok's Batman: Three Jokers #1 has finally been given a release date.

"After years of anticipation, the epic story is finally here: find out why there are three Jokers, and what that means for the decades-long battle between the Dark Knight and the Clown Prince of Crime," DC teased of Batman: Three Jokers, the first issue of which arrives June 17. "In this powerful, emotional story Batman, Batgirl and Red Hood—all past victims of the Joker—work together to solve a mystery unlike anything they've ever faced before!"

Three Jokers is a story that's over four years in the making, as the seeds were first planted in Johns and Fabok's Justice League #42 in June 2015. In that issue, Batman used the newly acquired powers of the Mobius Chair to ask two questions: Who really killed his parents, and what was The Joker’s real name? However, it wasn't until eight months later – the day Justice League #50 and DC Universe: Rebirth #1 hit stands -- that we finally got our answer as to what the Mobius Chair told Batman: "There are three."

Batman: Three Jokers #1, by Geoff Johns and Jason Fabok, arrives June 17 from DC.
