In spite of some graphics-related hiccups on the PC release, the first episode of "Batman: The Telltale Series" was widely regarded as a solid piece of storytelling, which set up a significant revelation about Bruce Wayne's parents. "Children of Arkham," the second episode, promises to delve even deeper into Batman's search for answers. A new trailer shows Bruce agonizing over the possibility that his parents may have had connections to organized crime, and his family name is now sullied by allegations of corruption.
The trailer introduces some new enemies, and a few scenes show Batman joining forces with Catwoman. There's also a dramatic moment where Mayor Hill lectures Bruce Wayne atop a balcony; "Power is an old oak," he says. "The trunk stands strong, but it's the roots that hold it up, and the thickest of them lead to Arkham." How Arkham will play into the next episode is left uncertain, but it seems clear that Batman will have to pay the asylum a visit to unravel more threads of this mystery.
Episode 2 of "Batman: The Telltale Series" will be released September 20. The game features voice work by Troy Baker, Laura Bailey, Travis Willingham, Erin Yvette and Enn Reitel.
