The LA Times reports that DC Comics' newest Digital First series will be "Batman: The Jiro Kuwata Batmanga," an English translation of Kuwata's 1960s work on the Dark Knight and the Boy Wonder that has never been published in the United States as a full run. The entire body of work encompasses over 1000 pages, and marks the first time Kuwata's Batman manga run has been available outside Japan.

The digital series -- as well as the planned trio of paperback collections for Kuwata's Batman work -- will maintain the right-to-left reading sequencing of the original manga. The digital comics kick off as a weekly series on July 5 with the 32-page story "Lord Death Man." Fans of Grant Morrison's "Batman Incorporated" might recognize the character from the first arc of the series in 2010.

"Batman: The Jiro Kuwata Batmanga" debuts July 5 on the DC Comics app, Readdcentertainment.com, comiXology, iBooks, Google Play, Kindle Store and Nook Store.
