A pair of new trailers for Telltale Games’ Batman: The Enemy Within episodic video game teases two possible outcomes for John Doe, the enigmatic criminal who has slowly transformed into the Joker over the course of the game. The two trailers reveal what could be in store for Bruce Wayne in the final episode, all of which depends on how he interacted with John throughout the game.
The first trailer teases a traditional relationship dynamic between Batman and the Joker, with Batman operating as the hero and Joker the villain. The video even gets into the age old theory that Batman ends up creating his own villains more often than not, an apt detail considering just how much control the player has had over John’s personal development.
The second trailer reveals a very unusual Batman/Joker dynamic, though, in which the Dark Knight and the Clown Prince of Crime are vigilante partners, cleaning up the streets in their own unique ways. Tempers inevitably flare when Joker’s methods are, perhaps unsurprisingly, revealed to be more vicious than Batman’s.
John Doe’s fate as Joker will be revealed in the season finale of Batman: The Enemy Within, which will release on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Windows, Mac, iOS and Android on March 27.
