While cancelled for over a decade, new concept art and character designs from Justice League Mortal has finally surfaced online.

Provided by fan Skull101ify on Instagram, the unused designs by Academy Award-winning production company Weta Workshop show D.J. Cutrona's planned costume as Superman, two visibly different costumes for Armie Hammer's Batman and a concept sketch of Adam Brody's Flash in action.

George Miller (Mad Max: Fury Road) has originally signed on to direct the film in Australia in September 2007, casting Cutrona, Hammer and Brody along with Megan Gale as Wonder Woman, Common as the Green Lantern John Stewart, Teresa Palmer as Talia al Ghul and Jay Baruchel as Maxwell Lord. After facing production delays and concerns over tax incentives that would significantly increase the film's budget, Warner Bros. decided to cancel the production and focus on solo superhero films after the success of The Dark Knight later that summer.

With the creation of the DC Extended Universe with 2013's Man of Steel five years later, the concept art now stands as a glimpse at what could have been.
