The Batman: Robert Pattinson Learns Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu In Training Photo

In preparation for The Batman, Robert Pattinson is studying with Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu coach Rigan Machado, who shared a photo of the two together.

Posted to Machado's Instagram, the image shows Pattinson and Machado together at the latter's Academy Beverly Hills school. In his caption, Machado wrote, "Batman is coming👏🏻👏🏻"

Pattinson was announced as taking over for Ben Affleck earlier this year, who confirmed his departure from the DC Extended Universe following the commercial and critical failure of 2017's Justice League. Pattinson is known for his roles in such films as Twilight and Cosmopolis. In addition to Pattinson, The Batman recently added Zoe Kravitz for the role of Selina Kyle/Catwoman and Paul Dano as Edward Nashton/The Riddler, while Jeffrey Wright will play Commissioner Gordon in the movie.

Machado, who studied with the illustrious Gracie family, counts such actors as Guardians of the Galaxy's Vin Diesel,  Sons of Anarchy's Charlie Hunnam and many more celebrities among his students past and present.

Starring Robert Pattinson, The Batman is directed by Matt Reeves, who will also produce alongside Dylan Clark. While casting is still underway, the film is scheduled to be released on June 25, 2021.
