Batman: Return of the Caped Crusaders to Swing Into Theaters For One Night

Those interested in seeing the animated "Batman: Return of the Caped Crusaders" on the big screen should mark their calendars. The direct-to-video film is getting a one-night theatrical release in select cinemas.

Based on the 1966 "Batman" television series, the  Warner Bros. Animation features original stars Adam West as the voice of Batman, Burt Ward as Robin and Julie Newmar as Catwoman.

Fathom Events has announced the animated adventure will be screened Oct. 10 in select theaters across North America, along with a special introduction and a never-before-seen featurette. Ticket and venue information can be found on the company's website.

In the film, Batman and Robin have to foil a collaborative plot hatched by The Joker, Penguin, Riddler and Catwoman, and restore order to Gotham City. The adventure will take them into outer space and back again, promising the same campy style that gave 1960s "Batman" its unique flair.

"Batman: Return of the Caped Crusaders" will be available for digital download Oct. 11, ahead of its Nov. 1 release on Blu-ray and DVD.
