Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson finally announced the release date of the Black Adam film, which will bring the fan-favorite character to the big screen for the first time. In response, Batman has extended a unique invitation to the Great One.

On the official Batman Twitter account, the Dark Knight responded to Johnson's Black Adam announcement by inviting him to come to the Batcave.

"This is a formal invitation for @TheRock to come visit the Batcave," Batman said in the tweet, letting Johnson know he's more than welcome to hang out with him in his headquarters.

Created by Otto Binder and C.C. Beck, Black Adam (aka Teth-Adam or Theo Adam) debuted in 1945's The Marvel Family # 1, with his original backstory explaining that he was the previous champion of the wizard Shazam in ancient Egypt. For abusing his powers, the wizard banished Black Adam to the farthest star in the universe, causing him to spend the next several millennia traveling back to Earth.

Though he was killed off in his first appearance, the character would return in 1977's Shazam #28 to plague Captain Marvel (currently known as Shazam) time and again. However, in modern times, Black Adam would become a more morally ambiguous character, even becoming an antihero and temporarily joining the Justice Society of America.

Starring Dwayne Johnson, Black Adam is scheduled to release on Dec. 22, 2021, with production expected to kick off in July.
