Fans have seen quite a few different versions of Batman and his extended family appear on TV and the big screen, in live-action and animated adaptations, with some of Gotham City's most dangerous villains joining the Dark Knight outside of the comics more than others.

One of Batman's more popular villains that have seen a few adaptations over the years is Pamela Isley/Poison Ivy, the super-powered eco-terrorist who has been both enemy and ally to Batman depending on the situation. Her relationship with other characters in Gotham City has also extended her presence in other mediums, though some adapted appearances are better than others.

11 DC Super Hero Girls (2019-)

Cartoon Network's DC Super Hero Girls started airing in 2019 with a re-imagined cast of DC characters that focused on teen female heroes as they attended Metropolis High School together alongside other young versions of DC villains.

Poison Ivy (voiced by Christina Milizia) is another student at Metropolis High who frequently appears in the series. While she isn't her usual eco-terrorist super-villain self from the comics, the character shares similar, but more peaceful opinions.

10 Teen Titans Go! (2013)/Justice League Action (2016)

Teen Titans Go! was another youthfully reimagined cartoon that featured kid-friendly adventures that were so popular the series hit theaters with Teen Titans Go! To The Movies, and Poison Ivy cameos in a couple of episodes.

2016's Justice League Action featured DC's Trinity as they teamed with different members of the League. Poison Ivy (voiced by Natasha Leggero) appeared in an episode where she married Swamp Thing with a wedding party full of deadly mutated plants.

9 The Lego Batman Movie (2017)

After a hilarious appearance in 2014's The Lego Movie, Will Arnett reprised his role as the Dark Knight in 2017's The Lego Batman Movie, which featured almost every one of Batman's villains as they launched an assault on Gotham City.

Poison Ivy was voiced by Riki Lindholme in the film, though the LEGO version of the character would continue to appear in other direct-to-video films like  Lego DC Comics Super Heroes: The Flash, voiced by Vanessa Marshall.

8 The Batman (2004-2008)

The Batman animated series gave the Dark Knight and his rogues' gallery a modern makeover that sometimes altered their origins and backstory as much as their physical appearance, though Poison Ivy didn't see her new look until the third season.

Pamela Isley was introduced as a teenage friend of Barbara Gordon/Batgirl and an amateur eco-terrorist who soon found herself transformed into Poison Ivy. While Ivy was shown to be incredibly powerful, her youthful connection to Batgirl limited Ivy's comic relationship with Batman that ultimately detracted from the character.

7 Gotham (2014-2019)

An interesting version of the character appeared on Fox's Gotham live-action TV series, which was set in the early days of Gotham City and focused on James Gordon and the GCPD as they dealt with the developing super-villain threat.

Poison Ivy was reimagined as Ivy Pepper and her backstory was reworked to tie-in closer to the prequel setting of the series. Ivy was aged rapidly due to her abilities so was played first by Claire Foley and then Maggie Geha before Peyton List closed out Ivy's role.

6 Young Justice (2010-)

Poison Ivy (voiced by Alyssa Milano) appeared on the Young Justice animated series alongside her teammates in the Injustice League; The Joker, Black Adam, Wotan, Ultra-Humanite, Count Vertigo, and Atomic Skull.

Each member contributed their own skills or abilities to further enhance Poison Ivy's giant plant monsters that were attacking major DC cities. Poison Ivy's abilities were well displayed though the character didn't appear much after her time with the Injustice League.

5 Batman: The Brave and the Bold (2008-2011)

An animated team-up series focused on the Dark Knight and various DC heroes premiered in 2008 with Batman: The Brave and the Bold, which featured newer heroes alongside modernized takes on the Silver Age era of characters.

Poison Ivy appeared a few times throughout the series as well as the 2018 animated crossover film Scooby-Doo! & Batman: The Brave and the Bold, voiced by Jennifer Hale, Vanessa Marshall, and Tara Strong. The character featured darker colors for the costume with a few lighter touches from the colorful flowers.

4 DC Animated Movie Universe (2007-)

The DC Animated Movie Universe launched an ongoing direct-to-video feature-length film in 2007 with Superman: Doomsday, though Poison Ivy didn't appear until Batman: Assault on Arkham, which adapted the Arkham video game series characters.

Poison Ivy would go on to appear in Batman and Harley Quinn (Paget Brewster), Justice League vs. The Fatal Five (Tara Strong), Batman: Hush (Peyton List), and era-appropriate versions in Gotham By Gaslight (Kari Wuhrer) and Batman Ninja (Atsuko Tanaka/Tara Strong).

3 Batman & Robin (1997)

The late Joel Schumacher directed 1997's live-action Batman & Robin which starred George Clooney and Chris O'Donnel as the Dynamic Duo as they faced off against multiple villains including Poison Ivy, played by Uma Thurman.

Poison Ivy's origins were fairly faithfully adapted for the series and she moved through a number of original and comic-accurate costumes. While her fellow villains (Arnold Schwarzenegger's Mr. Freeze and Robert Swenson's Bane) were both lackluster adaptations, Thurman's Poison Ivy shined bright in the last half of the original Batman franchise.

2 Timm-verse (1992-2004)

Poison Ivy (voiced by Diane Pershing) was given a revitalizing boost of popularity after her appearance in 1992's Batman: The Animated Series, which gave the character her hardened environmental warrior aspect while also introducing her for the first time to BFF Harley Quinn.

Bruce Timm's character designs influenced a number of animated series, and Poison Ivy would go on to appear in The New Batman Adventures, Justice League, and for one episode of Static Shock alongside Harley Quinn and Batman.

1 Harley Quinn (2019-)

The DC Universe streaming service launched an adult animated series based on the increasingly popular Harley Quinn that followed the character as she separated from The Joker and formed her own villainous Gotham City gang.

Poison Ivy (voiced by Lake Bell) was there to support her friend and would later join the gang as well, and appeared in a new costume created exclusively for the series. The romantic relationship between Harley and Ivy that has been teased in the comics is also being further developed on the animated series, which is set to air its third season on HBO Max.
