While Reeves himself has publicly welcomed Kravitz, Michelle Pfeiffer -- who starred in the role in 1992's Batman Returns -- has similarly congratulated Kravitz with some very specific words of advice.
While appearing on Good Morning America to promote her latest film Maleficent: Mistress of Evil, Pfeiffer encouraged Kravitz to remind the costume designers to allow for accommodations when she inevitably needs to go to the bathroom while in-costume. Pfeiffer's own iteration of the character had worn a skintight vinyl costume.
Pfeiffer's performance as Selina Kyle and her transformation into Catwoman was one of the most widely praised elements in Batman Returns. Previously, Pfeiffer had voiced her support for Maleficent co-star Elle Fanning to potentially portray the character while casting was still underway for the role.
The Batman is directed by Matt Reeves, who will also produce alongside Dylan Clark. Casting is still underway, with the film scheduled to be released on June 25, 2021.
