Batman: Mask of the Phantasm and Batman: The Animated Series writer Marty Pasko died at the age of 65. The details surrounding his death were not disclosed.
Pasko began his career with DC Comics in 1973 with Superman, writing his first story —"Private Life of Clark Kent" — in 1974 as a backup feature in Superman #277. His other DC Comics credits include Action Comics, Superman Family, The Immortal Dr. Fate, Wonder Woman and Justice League of America. He also spent some time with Marvel, writing Star Trek and Marvel's licensed Gargoyles series.
On the TV side of the business, Pasko won a Daytime Emmy Award for his work on Batman: The Animated Series. He worked on 17 episodes of the acclaimed series as a story editor and writer, including "Feat of Clay Part I" and "Part II," "The Cape and Cowl Conspiracy," "Moon of the Wolf," "See No Evil" and "The Demon's Quest: Part I" and "Part II." He also served as DC's liaison to Warner Bros. Studios, vetting scripts for series such as Smallville and Birds of Prey.
His other TV credits include The Tick, The Twilight Zone, G.I. Joe and Thundarr the Barbarian.
